St. Louis
Before the my husband's last deployment, we took a quick trip to St. Louis. Of course, we had to stop by the St. Louis or Gateway Arch. The arch was finished in 1965 and is 630 feet tall. Does anyone know how the design was chosen? Leave me a comment if you can find out.
We also visited a children's museum called City Museum. There were built in caves, three story slides, and lots of interesting artifacts from around St. Louis. I had to slide down all the slides and made my husband crawl through some tight spots in the caves. He almost got stuck several times!
There was also a Major League baseball game while we were there. We didn't go because we are Texas Rangers fans and they weren't playing. Does anyone know what MLB team calls St. Louis home? Tell me in the comments.
Have you been on any trips this summer? Or are you doing a stay-cation and exploring your home town this summer? Let me know.
Purposes of Our Blog
Welcome to our class blog! During the school year, we will use this to communicate our thoughts and experiences in and out of the classroom. Remember, our learning doesn't stop during the summer or when we aren't in the classroom. We're lifetime learners!
During the summer, I'll post pictures from my summer vacation, things I've learned or experienced while on summer break, and, most importantly, activities for you to do as well. These activities could be anything from answering questions posed in a blog post and exploring different web links to discussing books we both might be reading. When it gets closer to the start of school, I'll begin posting tips to get your best school year started smoothly.
Have a great summer and don't forget to check here often!
